Phuket 2011

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about this trip yet. It was absolute fun! Okay here goes!

DAY 1

We took a morning flight to Phuket and checked in to our resort in the afternoon.

Brought our bunnies (puffy the sailor and poofy in kimono) along and they made a new elephant friend! I think the elephant is into puffy.

Headed out for lunch soon after since we were both famished! Settled for an alfresco eatery somewhere along the nearest main road.

My boyfriend reckons his photo looks cuter. Um… hmm.

Here comes the food!

Tom Yum Soup

Pad Thai

Gimme everything!

There were some other dishes but they weren’t photographed because we started wolfing down the food after these 2 came. Haha!

We walked around the area near our resort and ventured into another expensive resort. There was free Internet access so we just acted like we were guests there. Went there every day after just to surf the net and chill! Hahaha.

After this we pampered ourselves to some face SPA and massage. Dinner was Italian buffet in our resort because it was raining heavily!

When the rain stopped, we went out to get Banana Chocolate Pancake for supper. The hawker sets up her stall every night just outside our resort. Super awesome pancake. No photo though!

DAY 2

Rise and shine early in the morning for our day trip—island hopping + snorkeling!

Waiting for our driver

At the Resort Lobby

After a short car ride, we reached the Ferry Terminal. PEE PEE Marine Travel was our tour company. What a hilarious name.

Ferry Terminal

This is our tour guide BEYONCE! Hahaha! Yes, I’m not kidding that’s really his name. He’s got a super wicked sense of humour.

Beyonce

We were on board boat No.5 and he taught us a fast and effective way to remember it by: CHANEL NO.5

And he said CHANEL NO.5 in a super sissified way. HILARIOUS!

One of the more memorable lines he said:

Remember to come back to the boat at 5pm. If you don’t come back, your brother, sister, mother, father, cousin and husband will miss you a lot.

But don’t worry about your husband, you can leave him with Beyonce~

HAHAHA. So sisssy!!!

1st island

Hopped to the first island.

My boyfriend topless on the boat. :O

Scenery along the way

Houses by the sea

After snorkeling

last island of the day

Unfortunately it started to rain when we hopped to the last island. We had to seek shelter at a small shed along the beach.

Boooooooooo.

Waiting for the rain to stop.

While we were patiently waiting for the rain to stop, Beyonce served us some fresh watermelons and pineapples. I’m always pleasantly surprised at how sweet Thai fruits are.

Thankfully the rain stopped after 15 minutes!

Back out at the beach!

It was still pretty cloudy.

Me and you, just us 2.

After lazing around at the beach, we headed back to our CHANEL No.5 boat. On our way back to the Ferry Terminal, it started raining very heavily again.

It was a super bumpy ride on the rough sea and the KOREANS (yes, we were on the same boat with koreans!) who were super image-conscious, couldn’t stand the rain water splattering in and hitting them on the face.

So they did this:

Macam funeral leh!!!

Hilarious!!! I told my boyfriend I feel like we’re mourning the death of someone.

After the rough bumpy ride, we were back at our resort. Sun came back up, so we swam and fooled around at the pool which was pretty much unoccupied, and had some 1-for-1 cocktails by the swim-up bar.

It was awesome. We love the swim-up bar!

DAY 3

Rise and shine for another round of day trip! First up—elephant trekking!

Soooo high up.

2 of us on the seat

Boyfriend riding on an elephant.

I didn’t dare go down to sit ON the elephant. Yikes… scary.

Naughty monkey snatched tourist's water bottle.

After riding on an elephant, we watched the elephant talent show.

Standing on 2 legs.

Standing high.

After the elephants did their thing, the monkeys came on.

"We know... It's really hot in Phuket."

"We da muscle monkeys!"

ATV Ride!

Highlight of the day was the ATV Ride. SUPER FUN! Although I couldn’t really handle that hefty machine. I let my boyfriend do the job. I’m just in for the ride. Hahaha!

We did white water rafting too! No pics of us though, we totally forgot to buy the photos!

WOOOO!!!

I love white water rafting! Our Thai instructor made it even more fun!

After the fun day out we headed back to the resort, washed up and had a good dinner. It’s our 2nd last dinner in Phuket! T____T

We settled down at a restaurant by the beach.

Fresh coconuts!

Satay

Pineapple Rice, Tom Yum Soup, Cashew Nut Chicken, Green Mango Salad

It was a very satisfying dinner. *Buuuurrrrp*

DAY 4

Cornflakes for breakfast

I always grab a bowl of cornflakes for myself during breakfast. Finally on the last day, my boyfriend asked, “why do you bother eating cheap food at a buffet breakfast?”

To which I said, “It’s nice what! See that cute ang moh dude also taking cornflakes. It’s young people food. You don’t know one lah.”

Guess what he replied? “Ya it’s for KIDS.”

WTF………..

Cornflakes healthy, calories friendly. 懂不懂的?!

After breakfast we proceeded to check out of our resort, so we could go shopping in Phuket town in the afternoon.

Doing the same pose again.

The money left for shopping. Puffy wants it all!

Wahhh...

No........

Nooooooo!!!!!!

Stupid bunnies.

Brought this bottle of Collagen Drink with me to Phuket town.

We watched a movie, UNKNOWN, at Phuket Town. Then we had an early dinner at a Fine Thai Food Restaurant.

Relatively empty

Modern Thai interior

Patterned ceiling

Intricately-designed tissue holder

Thais are really good with this napkin-folding thing.

Fragrant Rice

Fried Fish!!!

Roast Duck Red Curry

Red Ruby

After a good dinner and some shopping, it’s our time to bid farewell to Phuket. T___T

Here’s a last look at our beautiful resort by the pool. We miss the swim-up bar!!!

If you haven’t visited Phuket, go soon! It’s a really fun destination for a quick getaway. ^-^
